These are really lightweight, low profile shoes. I understand the qualms about the insole not being attached/glued. Once worn, the insole really sticks to the shoe. I ordered my usual 7.5 in M because I wear a 9 in Ws. The lacing is really interesting because it is so close to the nose of the shoe. A very cool look reminiscent of bowling shoes. In a good way. I do not recommend solely because (pun intended) because they seem really delicate & flimsy. I dont know how many seasons they would last. These are not an every day shoe — I use them for going to barre/pilates. Done!
