Fits well and hugs the foot, with great support and comfort. Only surprise was that it was so narrow around the middle of the foot, but once I got them on it didn't feel that weird and it should just require some breaking in. Also surprised that the yellow was so light, expected it to be more striking, but only a minor quabble.
Great update from the previous barricade boost. This is lighter in weight and better fitting. The construction is improved. This will remain the best stability and cushioning tennis shoe until the next update. Well done Adidas!
I've only played in the Ubersonic 2.0 twice since buying them a couple of weeks ago, so perhaps treat this as a first impressions review. I took a slight risk in buying these shoes because when I tried the Ubersonic 1.0's I found them uncomfortable under the ball of my foot so didn't purchase. I didn't have an opportunity to try the 2.0's before buying, but I was extremely happy to find that they are an excellent fit! I wear full-length orthotics, so this can sometimes present challenges when buying any kind of footwear, but the Ubersonic 2.0 accomodate my orthotics, and while being a bit snug, they're not uncomfortable at all, in fact, they're very comfortable! The bootie around the angle has a surprising amount of thickness to it and is comortable and supportive. While the shoes don't feel feather-light, they're certainly a significant step up from the old Barricades I had. I wear a 9 in Adidas runners and the Ubersonics fit true to size for me. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase of the Ubersonic 2.0. They felt great on court (they felt supportive forward/backward and laterally) and the traction was good. If these come up on sale sometime I'll probably buy another pair as a spare! Oh, and perhaps this is just me, but I changed the laces for white ones because I'm not a fan of pink laces!
These shoes are very sturdy and very well made. The fit is amazing. I play on hard and clay courts 5 times a week and on both surfaces those shoes are providing great control and comfort. Already bought a second pair.
Great shoe. Me and my partner wanted to have matching shoes and i am happy that we chose these. The nice part was i didnt feel like i was playing in tennis shoes which was nice. They were very comfortable and had great support. They were good enough to bring us to the state tournament for high school.
Great looking shoe. Quite comfortable but needs a bit breaking in. Unfortunately the sole is not good at all. It doesn't grip to the court as other barricade shoes I've used which have excellent grip.
Been playing tennis for months now, been using my running shoes to play and the shoe quickly deteriated. Decided to look for an actual tennis shoes and ubersonic 2 caught my attention due to the style. Once I slipped it on and tried it out, I quickly realized how great it is on your feet! It hugged my feet and provided great support. Played tennis that day and can honestly say that the shoe enhanced my playstyle as well as the game. Enjoyed playing even more with the right set of gears. You will not be disappointed with the ubersonic 2. Definitely a must buy!
The Fit was good but the materials used were disappointing . A very low quality vinyl/ plastic is used for the Upper- it is extremely cheap and faded looking . The shoe interior fabric is similarly disappointing and overly cushioned. They are comfortable and are stable- but a Vinyl, plastic low cost shoe is not a premium product. I purchased these as a 1:1 direct replacement for my old Novak Pro shoes- but these are significantly different and use significantly cheaper materials. Never Again a "Web purchase" - I would not have left the Store with these.
These are just the same as the old Barricade 7 but now sold under Novak brand. A very good shoe for extreme tennis and heavier players. Newer versions of Barricade have a softer top and although a little bit lighter are not as robust as these.
Not your typical tennis shoe that feels like cinder blocks strapped to your feet. Let's face it, most "tennis" shoes suck because they are so darn heavy and severely inhibit one's mobility. I've been through the gamut of tennis shoes and have found these to closest resemble a lightweight running shoe yet simultaneously provide the stability and durability of a heavy court shoe. Adidas has done a fine job engineering this particular iteration of tennis shoes. I'm hopeful that future versions will take on similar design qualities and characteristics.
Quality and comfort is one of the best . I have been wearing Barricade since day one. This is a lighter and faster shoe. If you are looking for a more support shoe, go for the barricade. Ubersonic is my new favourite.
Very much as hoped for in ordering a trainner suitable for both tennis and badminton. The grip is good and so too is support for the feet. The sole seems quite robust - but that, and the suitability of the upper remain to be seen over the longer term.
Really good quality tennis shoe, I play tennis 8 hours of tennis a week and with the twists and turns and movement side to side, these shoes really support your feet in all the right places. Great looking with the contrasting vivid laces. Highly recommend and consider them as an essential part of my tennis equipment.
