After putting these through some serious stress on a large variety of terrain I can say that I am really pleased my purchase. I first went out in them thoroughly under prepared for a days walking and climbing. Usually when wearing new shoes I will go armed with an array of plasters but I did not need them. I was wearing some poor quality socks too not designed for walking but the boots made my every step as comfortable as could be. The boots have so far held up against puddles, boggy mud, concrete pavements, grass, rocks and dense woodland. Grip is fantastic and I've felt stable in every precarious situation i put myself in and I've been up and down some very steep inclines. I do not regret getting these and highly recommend them.
I've been looking for some lightweight boots for walking. These were in my price range and came with Gore-Tex built in as well. They arrived on a Wednesday, and I wore them for a couple of hours. They felt great, so I gambled on wearing them for a 10km walk. No problems, whatsoever.
Most lower body clothing I purchase needs to be taken up. However, the quality of my 2016 Australian purchase is as good as my 2013 Parisian purchase. Even though they are marketed as hiking clothing, they are comfortable and look smart in a wide range of situations. My main reason for purchase was comfort on long-haul flights while still looking smart in the business lounge. They are a bit expensive but what price quality ? Thoroughly recommended.
Really impressed with the style and colour of these boots on opening the box. Firstly, I take a size 9 in adidas trainers, but the size 8 ½ in these boots fit perfect with socks, so I would suggest a half size smaller than you normally wear in trainers. But it depends on whether you want more room in the boot itself. The sole is fairly stiff as you would expect, but still remains with enough cushioning to absorb impact on any surface from grass to shale and stone and provides plenty of grip even along muddy tracks and banks. The lacing system on these is excellent. It’s a quick lace system so all you need to do is slip your feet in and pull the lace up, it tightens the whole of the boot with one tug. Held in place by a plastic locking toggle they did not come loose at all. There is a handy elastic lace holder by the first lace loop towards the toe, which, when the lace is tightened holds the toggle securely in place and stops that and the laces from getting caught on anything. Once the toggle has been placed in the elastic holder, they have a strap that velcros over at the top of the boot which protects the top lace and fastens over the top eyelet. The fastshell material keeps the feet warm but not to hot that they overheat and become uncomfortable and because of this material coupled with the elastic lace system these boots are easy to get on and off, unlike others that are fabric or leather. I haven’t yet tested whether these are waterproof, water resistant or neither at the moment, given the weather that they have been used in, but I daresay, that this test wont be far away given the forecast….!! I would definatley recommend these to anybody looking for a comfortable mid height boot and would be happy to pay between £70-£80, probably a little more, depending on the waterproof capability.
Excellent lightweight but robust waterproofed boot for most outdoor activities. The boot is very well cushioned and supportive, with a rugged outsole for good grip on any surface. The quick lacing system is great and easy to tighten and tie when wearing gloves. The fit for me is spot on, in both length and width. So would say buy for your size unless you intend to wear very thick socks. No reason for anyone to buy heavy walking boots when these are on the market.Quality product.
Bought these babies a few months ago .looked good sounded good so I thought I'd try em as I've always loved Addidas.I'd always favoured traditional walking boot brands previously but I've gotta say these boots really Really work.Just got back from a week in Snowdonia. The boots performed so well. They stick to rock like glue and give you much more confidence,They are supportive and the quick lace system is brilliant especially after a long walk and scramble they are so quick to get on and off and no laces to come undone !!! They are light as a feather , feels like you're wearing trainers. My one question would be ,how good would they be if you were bog trotting in the Peak District ? If you're not, take a good look at these boots, I'm seriously impressed.Well done Addidas
I've had mine since this time last year, and since then I've used them at the gym, in martial arts, on the trail and through a Born Survivor obstacle race, and they've held up really well. No problems anywhere.
Had a Calrk Gore tex, no rain would penetrate but it was very slippery on wet floors and pavements. . I fell few times .. so I bought this addidas and I am loving it!! The grip to the floor is just amazing, it seems it has a grip of a car tire.. never had tried a shoe sole like this. Inside is not too tight or too wide, just the right size ... shoelaces are very easy to pull and knot .. they are light ... and comfortable on walking... before buying it I was worried they are going to be hard shoes on walking but found it very comfortable to walk with... I wore it I 25C and I didnt feel too warm, it seems it ventilate ...have not tried in in cold weather yet There is a brezent loop at the back probably to pul the shoe up... when I wear the shoe, I have to pull on pants by hand over it so it doesnt stuck above it . When yiu ajdust it once each time you wear it, you will be fine for the rest of the day Overall I am very happy I bought this
Men's Hiking/Trekking Flex Zip-Off Pants are a good addition to your day pack , shorts and trousers what more can you ask for ! these are light weight , I have also got north face trousers which I would say I prefer the flex zip off ones more as they are cooler in hot weather. all in all good all round !!!
